Last year we didn't get enough signatures to get the marijuana initiative on the ballot. But we learned a lot of techniques and we know that we can do it and we know how to do it.
If we have 2000 volunteers we can get all the signatures we need at the spring festivals. The people are out there hungry to sign. We just have to get to them.
The people who worked the festivals last year got from 300 to 400 signatures each day per person. With 2000 people doing this covering all the festivals we could conceivably get over 200,000 signatures in just 4 days!
According to the National Household Survey on Drug Abuse over a quarter of our population have used marijuana. This means that there are about 1.3 million Washingtonians who have used marijuana. This initiative is not just for them, everybody would benefit, but at least those 1.3 million know that the reefer madness baloney is nonsense. We just have to reach a fraction of them.

Don't wait for the politicians to come around. It isn't going to happen. We have to make it happen!
So set up a table around Green Lake, canvass a university, or cover a festival, whatever feels good, but get those signatures!!!
